2021 HSB ACCURACY COMPETITION LOCAL
GUIDELINES
To be used with FAI Sporting Code Section 7C
A. Launch/ Takeoff
Pilots must only launch in launch order to be designated by the Launch Marshal.
Timing between pilots launching will be a MINIMUM of 90 seconds, up to 5
minutes depending on conditions, wing type and wing loading. Safety Director
and Launch Marshal will determine these factors ongoing, and failure to abide
will result in disqualification.

B. No Free Flight During Competition
There will be no free flying at this event (including before or during the
competition) as per insurance regulations. Each and every flight must be a flight
authorized by and in the presence of the Launch Marshal as one of the
competitor’s 7 rounds. If any pilot attempts to free fly, the competition will be
immediately suspended until the rogue pilot has landed. The rogue pilot will be
disqualified. If more than one pilot launches in an attempt to free fly, the
competition will be deemed cancelled, the event organizer shall return all entry
fees. The event insurance shall exclude cover for any injuries that arise from
free flying activities.

All competition round flights must be made directly from the designated launch to
the spot landing target. Competitors may not take any extended flights. Any
competitor who attempts and extended flight will be automatically disqualified.

D. No Aerobatics
Competitors may not engage in aerobatic maneuvers of any kind. Competitors
may not intentionally initiate any of the following forbidden maneuvers:
Symmetric deflation, Asymmetric deflation, Stall, Spin, Cravatte, B-line Stall,
Nose down or Aggressive Spiral, Nose down or Aggressive Wing-overs, loop,
roll, barrel roll, D-bagging or Tandems. Any competitor who intentionally
attempts any aerobatic maneuvers or any of the forbidden maneuvers will be
automatically disqualified.

E. No Fly Zones
Competitors may not fly over the spectator area, parking area, campground or
river at any height.

F. Landing Safety Marshal
If the Landing Safety Marshal waives off a competitor, the pilot must immediately
discontinue any attempt to reach the target, and instead select and perform the
safest landing possible without regard to the spot landing target. A competitorthat disregards the instructions of the Safety Landing Marshal will be immediately
disqualified from the competition. This also means no flapping or stalling out your
wing an attempt to spot land. If so you will be disqualified from competition.

G. Rating Requirements
All pilots entering the competition must be a current USHPA member with a
current P3 (and or M1) flight proficiency rating or a foreign equivalent.

H. Equipment Requirements
All pilots must fly with an adequate reserve. Pilots must have had recent
experience simulating a reserve toss within the last 12 months and had a repack
within the last 6 months. Before the competition each competitor must have their
reserve system is functional and properly attached. There will be a gear check
on launch before every flight as well.

I. The Target
There will be a designated spot landing target area with a maximum radius of 12
meters, at the center of a much larger missed spot landing area with a radius of
at least 300 meters.

J. Landing Target Area
Once the competitor has landed, they must immediately gather their gear and
exit the target area under the direction of the Landing Safety Marshal. No
competitor shall launch until the target area and the entire LZ is clear. The only
people allowed in the spot landing area and LZ will be the Judges, the Safety
Landing Marshal and the one competitor who is attempting to land or has just
landed.

All pilots entering the competition must check in with the Flight Director, provide
sufficient proof of USHPA membership, or purchase a 30 day temporary
membership, provide proof of P3 rating or foreign equivalent, and sign the Event
Waiver required by the insurance company.

Flight Park Expectations
• All guests must check-in, sign waivers and pay fees prior to enjoying the park. If staff are not present please call
(208) 793-0275.
• Digital waivers are found online at: hsbflightpark.com/membership
• If you are new to the flight park, a site introduction by staff is required.
• Use designated parking spots along the fenced area. ALL vehicles must stay clear of the pilot's landing area and shuttle
vehicles.
• If you pack it in, pack it out (we would like to remain a clutter free park).
• SMOKING: Allowed in designated areas only, smokers must pick up all butts.
• DOGS: Well behaved (only) dogs allowed, PLEASE pick up your dog’s poop. We understand you can’t watch them all
the time so if you see some poop and have a dog, pick it up. Dogs that pee on gliders are absolutely not allowed. Dogs
that chase gliders on launch or landing are absolutely not allowed.
• Do not disturb wildlife, we preserve it.
• Camping is permitted in the campground found across Old Emmett Rd along the Payette River.
• No fires unless they are authorized and in approved areas.
Pilots
• All visiting pilots must have proof of USHPA certification prior to flying at our park. (30 day memberships $10)
• Helmets are required for all pilots and tandem students.
• All pilots must have current USHPA Membership and appropriate Flight Proficiency Rating for the launch, LZ and wing
being flown. All pilots with a Flight Proficiency Rated less than H2/P2 MUST always be under the direct supervision of a
USHPA Certified Instructor.
• All Flights must take place within the USHPA recommended operating limitations for the USHPA Flight Proficiency Rating
held by the pilot in command.
• If you see an accident involving bodily injuries that require medical attention or property damage greater than $2500,
fill out an accident report at the USHPA web site: https://www.ushpa.org/page/incident-report• Pilots who are not currently in our training program must present a shuttle token prior to all shuttle rides.
• Absolutely NO unauthorized vehicles allowed on property. If found trespassing, you could be fined.
• HANG GLIDERS: Must check in to authorize your vehicle for launch access. We have a seperate waiver for drivers.
• If staff is not available, we recommend to not fly alone. Call to check in at minimum.
• Always fly within your skill level, know your limits.
• Students must carry a radio for all training flights.
• Mid-day flying for experienced pilots ONLY, due to thermal activity.
• Land in our designated landing areas ONLY.
• Do NOT land in the river, campground, transfer station, property, and stay clear of ALL frequently driven areas.
• No PPG's flying at the same time as paraglider's or speedflyer's at the flight Park
• HSB has a no drug and alcohol policy. No intoxicating substances 8 hours prior to flying.
• ALL pilots must follow standard rules of the ridge.
• Respect the park and the pilots around you.
• Criminal behavior of any kind will not be tolerated
• Base jumping and cut-aways are not allowed
• Pilots must abide FAA/FAR regulations
• The Swoop Alley is not a designated landing area.
• Pilots are advised not to do any Acro at the flightpark.
In Violation of Expectations
Any violations are up to HSB Flight Park Management discretion to determine disciplinary actions. Even a first offense
could warrant a maximum penalty of being asked to leave permanently if management determines severity of violation.
